“PG Dada” by Moritz Eggert Receives World Premiere in Gent

The “notabu.ensemble” will perform the world premiere of Moritz Eggert’s new ensemble work “PG Dada” at the music centre “De Bijloke” in Gent on 5 June 2015 under the direction of Mark-Andreas Schlingensiepen. Two days later, on 7 June 2015, the same interpreters will also present the German premiere of this work, completed in 2015. The concert is part of the event “SUPERNOVA 04” in the Mendelssohn Hall of the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf.

Moritz Eggert comments on “PG Dada” as follows:
“If you ask me, I am against immigration. I am against the immigration of restriction. Where immigration is restricted is where the emigration of the mind begins. But maybe you shouldn't ask me at all. Maybe you should go out into the street and have a look at how restriction of immigration is demanded. Maybe you demand the same thing. Maybe you also demand that the demand for restriction of immigration should be restricted. At best, it is the case that both wishes limit each other; at worst, one must emigrate in order to escape restriction of immigration. The main thing is that we make it known publicly. Whoever demonstrates publicly demands unrestricted migration in order to lend expression to the demand for restriction of immigration. Whoever demonstrates against it demands restriction of unrestricted migration of others in order to promote immigration or simply to prevent its being restricted. We simply enjoy restricting others. I could therefore agree to a prohibition of the immigration of restriction. If you ask me, then I’ll tell you: I am for emigration. I am in favour of the emigration of restriction. Wherever restriction has emigrated, the mind can immigrate. But maybe you shouldn’t ask me. Perhaps you are an immigrant and are afraid of forced, unrestricted emigration. Perhaps you are an emigrant and are afraid of unrestricted immigration. One would have to expect problems at the border in either case; the best thing to do would be to immigrate in order to thwart unrestricted emigration. Restricted immigration demands emigration; so does unrestricted restriction of emigration. For this reason, one must urgently - and I say this unrestrictedly - restrict the restriction if one does not want to be forced to emigrate soon. I you ask me, then I’ll tell you that I'm in favour of restriction. I am for restriction of limitation. PG Dada.”
