Heidelberger Frühling: “Nestajanje / Raum mit Klagelied“ by Nikodijevic Given World Premiere

The Serbian composer Marko Nikodijevic, who has celebrated major successes with numerous premieres at the Witten Days for New Chamber Music, the Donaueschingen Music Days, the Munich Biennial and, most recently, with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, and repeatedly explored new sound spaces with influences from techno-music and the help of electronic media, has now completed a new solo concerto. None other than the clarinettist Sabine Meyer will be the soloist in the world premiere of Marko Nikodijevic’s “Nestajanje / Raum mit Klagelied” for clarinet, chamber orchestra and electronica with the Basle Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Andreas Spering on 22 March 2015 during the course of the “Heidelberger Frühling” (Heidelberg Spring Festival). The work is commissioned by the festival and is dedicated to Sabine Meyer and the Basle Chamber Orchestra.

The performance of Nikodijevic’s work (in memoriam Goran Kapetanović) will be recorded live by the SWR2 on this evening.
