Lera Auerbach Is Composer & Artist in Residence at the Rheingau Music Festival 2015

The programme of the Rheingau Music Festival 2015 has just been announced. At this festival, Lera Auerbach will be Composer & Artist in Residence. She will first conduct a workshop with students of the Frankfurt Academy of Music at Johannisberg Castle (13-14 July 2015) and a workshop concert on 14 July 2015 at which she will herself participate. Then she will present a piano recital on 15 July 2015 at Johannisberg Castle with her 24 Piano Preludes and the “Pictures at an Exhibition”. Auerbach's works String Quartet No. 3, Postscriptum for Piano Trio, Horn Trio and “Memoria de la luz” for strings will be performed at the workshop concert. On 29 July 2015 Lera Auerbach will perform at the chamber concert at Johannisberg Castle together with Daniel Hope (violin) and Alban Gerhardt (violoncello) with the following works on the programme: Sonata for Violoncello and Piano, Piano Trio No. 2 (“Triptych”), Violin Sonata No. 3 and the world premiere of a piano trio adaptation of Robert Schumann's “Dichterliebe”. Finally, at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden on 30 July 2015, the Munich Chamber Orchestra under its principal conductor Alexander Liebreich will perform Lera Auerbach's “Eterniday” and, together with the composer, the Piano Concerto in D minor, K. 466 by Mozart mit Lera Auerbach's cadenzas.
