Ali-Zadeh, Auerbach and Weinberg Nominated for a Grammy Award

A nomination for a Grammy Award, the world’s most renowned prize for classical recordings, is already an award in itself. The current nominations have just been announced, and the awards ceremony will take place on 8 February 2015.

The magnificent project “In 27 Pieces: The Hilary Hahn Encores”, a collection of 27 encores commissioned from international composers by the violinist Hilary Hahn, has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of “Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance”. From our catalogue, Lera Auerbach’s “Speak, Memory” and Franghiz Ali-Zadeh’s “Impulse” are amongst the compositions. The CD has been released by Deutsche Grammophon (DGG 4791725).

The second nominated CD is Mieczyslaw Weinberg’s Symphony No. 10 with the Kremerata Baltica under the direction of Gidon Kremer. This CD has been released by ECM (ECM New Series 2368/69).
