World Premieres of Works by Eggert and Müller-Wieland at the 2014 Kissinger Sommer Festival

During the course of the “Kissinger LiederWerkstatt” of this year’s 29th Kissinger Sommer Festival, the works “Die Glocken (von Uschi)” for vocal quartet, piano and two assistants by Moritz Eggert and “Gretchens Engel” for mezzo-soprano and piano by Jan Müller-Wieland will be given their world premieres together at a concert on 30 June 2014.

Eggert’s “Die Glocken (von Uschi)” will be presented by Siegfried Mauser (piano), Jan Philip Schulze and Axel Bauni (assistants), Caroline Melzer (soprano), Olivia Vermeulen (mezzo-soprano), Karol Kozlowski (tenor) and Wolfgang Holzmair (baritone). This work was commissioned for the LiederWerkstatt and is dedicated to Kari Kahl-Wolfsjäger.

Jan Müller-Wieland’s lied “Gretchens Engel” based on Goethe's “Urfaust” and Schnitzler's “Fräulein Else”, composed in 2014 and also commissioned for the Kissinger Sommer Festival, will be given its world premiere by Olivia Vermeulen (mezzo soprano) and Axel Bauni (piano).
