“Focs d’artifici” by Ferran Cruixent Given Austrian Premiere

After several performances in Germany the percussion concerto “Focs d’artifici” (“fireworks”) by the Catalonian composer Ferran Cruixent has meanwhile been successfully performed in countries including China, Spain and Columbia. Now the Austrian premiere will be given on 18 June 2014 in Wels. The percussionist Sabine Pyrker and the Symphony Orchestra Wels will be present work from 2008 under the direction of Walter Rescheneder at the Herminenhof of the Music School Wels during the course of the “Kiwanis Open Air Concert”.

Ferran Cruixent wrote his percussion concerto for the German world-class percussionist Peter Sadlo, who performed the world premiere on 14 January 2008 with the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen in Reutlingen.
