World Premiere of Lera Auerbach’s “Dreammusik” in Los Angeles

In response to a commission from the Camerata Pacifica, the Russian-American composer Lera Auerbach has written a concertino for violoncello and ensemble (9 players) entitled “Dreammusik”, now to be given its world premiere on 6 March 2014 by Ani Aznavoorian (violoncello) and the Camerata Pacifica in Los Angeles. This will be followed by three more performances with the same interpreters in various cities in California.

Lera Auerbach (composer and pianist) has already realised several projects together with this cellist. Their recording of the 24 Preludes, Sonata and Postlude for violoncello and piano entitled “Celloquy” (label: Cedille Records 137) was released last year. This recording has received the highest evaluations.
