Rondo by Jan Müller-Wieland to Receive World Premiere at the Hindemith Festival in Berlin

Jan Müller-Wieland’s Rondo for viola and violoncello will be given its world premiere at a night concert on 8 February 2014 during the course of the Hindemith Festival of the University of the Arts in Berlin (7 - 9 February 2014). The performers will be the violist Hartmut Rohde and the cellist Jens-Peter Maintz.

Hartmut Rohde asked four composer friends, amongst them Jan Müller-Wieland, to contribute a brief duo including the viola inspired by Hindemith's Duet for viola and violoncello composed in 1934. Müller-Wieland decided on the original instrumentation of the Hindemith Duet and has dedicated his Rondo to the soloists of the world premiere.
