Munich Opera Festival: “Wagner versus Verdi” by Moritz Eggert receives World Premiere

“‘Wagner versus Verdi’ - or: the unique and unprecedented occurrence of a musical competition in which it is decided, once and for all, which of the two composers is the better one, with the help of not one but four large ensembles, even splendid wind music, all kinds of percussion, a gigantic and magnificent spectacle of puppets and acrobats, designed and invented by La Fura dels Baus from Catalonia, as well as unusual and innovative music designed and invented by Moritz Eggert.” (Moritz Eggert)

On 28 June 2013, the Bavarian Police Orchestra (directed by Johann Mösenbichler), the Musikkapelle Peter Mayr Pfeffersberg from South Tyrol (directed by Josef Feichter), musicians of the Bavarian State Orchestra, the Tölzer Stadtkapelle e.V. (directed by Josef Kronwitter) and the Musikverein Eichenau e.V. (directed by Philipp Lüdecke) will perform the world premiere of Moritz Eggert’s new spectacle “Wagner versus Verdi” at Max-Joseph-Platz in Munich at an open-air concert during the course of the Munich Opera Festival.
