Swiss Premiere of Gubaidulina‘s ”Fachwerk“

The Norwegian bayanist Geir Draugsvoll, who has already performed this work in many places throughout the world, will perform the Swiss premiere of Sofia Gubaidulina‘s ”Fachwerk“ for bayan, percussion and strings on 20 February 2013 in La Chaux-de-Fonds. He will be accompanied by the Ensemble Symphonique Neuchatel directed by Alexander Mayer.

During the course of the concert the ensemble will also present Gubaidulinas “Introitus“ for piano and chamber orchestra and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 14.

“Fachwerk“ is dedicated to Geir Draugsvoll who holds a teaching position for accordion at the Copenhagen Music Academy and who also presented the world premiere together with Anders Loguin (percussion) an the Amsterdam Sinfonietta under the direction of Reinbert de Leeuw on 13 November 2009 in Gent (Belgium).

This first performance is part of a small Gubaidulina Festival in Neuchatel and La Chaux-de-Fonds.
