World Premiere: “My Love is as a Fever” by Moritz Eggert at Kissingen Summer

Lieder to texts of William Shakespeare are the focus of the two-part LiederWerkstatt (Lieder Workshop) of the  festival “Kissingen Summer” 2012. Seven contemporary composers (including Manfred Trojahn and Moritz Eggert) have written new lieder; these are being prepared for performance by four young singers in Bad Kissingen and will be presented during the course of this concert.

A highlight of the opening concert of the LiederWerkstatt will be the world premiere of Moritz Eggert’s new chamber work “My Love is as a Fever” for countertenor and piano on 30 June 2012. This work, composed in 2012, will be performed by the composer himself at the piano, supported by the countertenor Tim Severloh.

Alongside the premieres, Shakespeare settings by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and others will also be heard. The festival is being held this year from 21 June until 22 July under the motto “Welcome England, Welcome America!”.
