“The Completely Normal Life“: World Premiere of Moritz Eggert`s Orchestra Work in Kaiserslautern

The Heidelberg composer Moritz Eggert also has a particular "weakness" for opera. At the end of the 2010/11 season, a new version of his one-act opera "Wir sind daheim. Ein Versatzstück" was premiered at the Opera stabile and the daily "Hamburger Abendblatt" enthusiastically wrote: "Rating: absolutely worth seeing and hearing."

Moritz Eggert's new work "The Completely Normal Life" for performer-group, percussion ensemble and large orchestra was commissioned by Spektrum Villa Musica within the framework of the network Neue Musik, a large-scale promotional measure of the Federal Cultural Foundation for a project of the AG Neue Musik Grünstadt. The piece is conceived for an indeterminate number of young musicians who do not have to be professional musicians. They are subdivided into two groups: "extra percussion" (diverse unusual percussion instruments) and "performers" (primarily scenic actions). Together with the German Radio Philharmonic Saarbrücken under the direction of Roland Böer, the piece will be premiered on 10 November 2011 in Kaiserslautern.
