“Cinderella“ World Premiere with Music by Lera Auerbach in Helsinki

A new version of the fairytale classic "Cinderella" by Terence Kohler will receive its world premiere at the Kansallisooppera in Helsinki on 14 October 2011. The music consists exclusively of works by the US-resident Lera Auerbach. These are Auerbach's Symphony No. 1 (except the fifth movement), the Double Concerto for Violin, Piano and Orchestra (except the first movement), Violin Concerto No. 1 and two short waltzes (from the string quartet concerto "Fragile Solitudes" and the ballet "The Little Mermaid").

Terence Kohler's new choreography will be performed by the Finnish National Ballet with the Orchestra of the Finnish National Opera under the direction of Luke Dollman.
