Music China 2010 in Shanghai & Premieres in Beijing

The music fair “Music China” from 12 until 15 October will be held this year at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) in Shanghai; as every year, Sikorski Music Publishers will be on location once again. You will find us in Hall E 3, Stand F 23.

New printed editions of contemporary works by Chinese composers will be published just in time for the fair: these works include Xiaoyong Chen’s “Speechlessness, Clearness And Ease” for ensemble (SIK 8687), Wenchen Qin’s “The Sun Shadow VIII” for ensemble (SIK 8574) and Guoping Jia’s “Floating over an Endless Field” for flute and piano (SIK 8685).

In addition, two important concerts will take place in China before and after the fair.

Already on 8 October, the Chinese premiere of Ferran Cruixent’s “Focs d'artifici: Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra” will take place in Beijing. Peter Sadlo (percussion) and the Beijing Symphony Orchestra will perform this work by the Catalonian composer under the direction of Tan Lihua.

Immediately after the fair, the “HÖLDERLIN SYMPHONY” for baritone, chamber choir and orchestra by the composer, conductor and music manager Peter Ruzicka will receive its world premiere on 17 October during the course of the Beijing Music Festival. Under the composer’s baton, the performers will be Thomas Bauer (baritone), the China Philharmonic Orchestra and the Choir of the Central Opera House of China.
