Counteractions 2222 Metres above Sea Level

A festival taking place 2222 metres above sea level is something special indeed. The concert hall of the Riffelalp Festival in Zermatt enjoys a view of the dreamlike scenery of the Matterhorn; the Festival takes place from 30 August until 6 September, with a highly variegated programme. Works by Sofia Gubaidulina and Franghiz Ali-Zadeh, amongst others, will be performed there.

One of the high points: Elsbeth Moser (Bayan) and Nicolas Altstaedt (violoncello) will perform the world premiere of Franghiz Ali-Zadeh's new work "Counteractions" for violoncello and bayan on 5 September.

Besides these, the following interpreters are expected at the Festival: the Camerata Bern, the Trio Fontenay, the Vienna String Sextet, Ewa Kupiec (piano) and Barbara Bonney (soprano).
