Prokofiev's "Queen of Spades" premiered in Berlin

Michail Jurowski conducted the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin in the world premiere of the film music "Queen of Spades" by Sergei Prokofiev from the year 1936 to Michael Romm's unfinished film based on Alexander Pushkin's drama on 4 October in Berlin. This score, like the one of "Alexander Nevsky," was lying around in Moscow and just now, through Michail Jurowski, was brought to Germany, where it is being printed by Sikorski Music Publishers, was premiered in the concert of the RSB (4 October, 8 o'clock P.M. at the Berlin Konzerthaus, Large Hall) and was recorded for a new CD production.

Alfred Schnittke's Eighth Symphony received its first German performance on the same evening. At 6:45 P.M., Stefan Lang presented an introduction to both works in conversation with Michail Jurowski.
