Modest Mussorgsky’s “Songs and Dances of Death” Arranged by Raskatov

The composer and editor of Alfred Schnittke’s Symphony No. 9, Alexander Raskatov, has orchestrated the famous “Songs and Dances of Death” of Modest Mussorgsky and composed free intermezzi to go with them. In this form, together with video installations, the work will receive its premiere on 15 June 2007 in Amsterdam with the Radio Chamber Philharmonic Hilversum under the direction of Reinbert de Leeuw during the course of the Holland Festival.
