Shchedrin’s Classic “Carmen Suite” for Percussion and Organ

Rodion Shchedrin’s refined adaptation of elements from Georges Bizet’s opera “Carmen” in his “Carmen Suite” for percussionists and string instruments is one of the most frequently performed works in the concert hall and on the ballet stage. The world premiere of a version of the “Carmen Suite” for percussion and organ will be given in Lucerne on 11 April. Wolfgang Sieber, organ, and percussion students of the Lucerne Music Academy will perform the work.
