Rodion Shchedrin Days in Yerevan, Armenia

The Shchedrin Days will be taking place from 11 to 14 June 2008 in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, during which works by the Russian composer will be performed. Among the works being presented are Three Cheerful Pieces for piano trio, Three Shepherds for oboe, clarinet and flute, the Concerto for Orchestra No. 1 and the Carmen Suite. The main interpreter at the Shchedrin Days will be David Geringas, who will perform as ensemble musician, cello soloist and conductor of the Armenian State Philharmonic, among other ensembles.

The Shchedrin Days are part of the international Armenian music festival Perspectives XXI, which has been presenting international artists and composers since the year 2000 during the course of events distributed throughout the year.
