Piano Quartet movement by Dmitri Shostakovich in Hamburg Ballet “Lonely Attachment”

With “DisTanz”, the Bundesjugendballett not only opened its season in Hamburg with a new cast, but also celebrated its first performance in a theatre after the forced break caused by Corona. Following the sold-out series of premieres at the beginning of October, four additional dates are scheduled as part of “Im Aufschwung XII”, (On the Upturn XII) the traditional series of the Bundesjugendballett at the Ernst Deutsch Theater.

In search of ways to express themselves through dance even in this time of unique circumstances, the ensemble of dancers, actors, singers and instrumentalists presents a special episodic evening with challenging new choreographies.

Part of this project is also the ballet episode “Lonely Attachment” by choreographer Raymond Hilbert, who lets the 4th movement of Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 2 dance in this ballet.
