25th anniversary of the death of Boris Tchaikovsky

On 7 February 2021, we commemorate the 25th anniversary of Boris Tchaikovsky’s death.

Born on 10 September 1925, the Russian composer was a student of Dmitri Shostakovich, Nikolai Myaskovsky and Vissarion Shebalin and is one of the most important Russian musical personalities of the 20th century.

In addition to his film music and his symphonic oeuvre, his piano quintet, the Eight Children’s Pieces for piano, known to many piano students, and the Concerto for piano and chamber orchestra are considered particularly popular and well-known works by Boris Tchaikovsky.
