A new work for children by Johannes X. Schachtner: A new arrangement of Carl Reinecke’s Children’s Symphony

Johannes X. Schachtner is not only active as a conductor and composer, but also as director of the youth ensemble for New Music Bavaria. Together with the world-famous violinist Julia Fischer and the equally renowned pianist Henri Bonamy, at the close of 2019 he created a new offering for young musical talent: The Children’s Symphony Orchestra.
For this ensemble, he has created not only a string orchestra arrangement of the famous “Christmas Sonatina” by the romantic Carl Reinecke, premiered by the children's symphony orchestra under his direction in Gauting on December 13, 2019, but also an arrangement of Reinecke’s “Children’s Symphony” for string orchestra and children's instruments with obligato piano or toy piano.
The children’s symphony will be premiered under the composer's baton in Gräfelfing on Octobre 1, 2020.

Carl Reinecke's Children’s Symphony dates from 1897 and comprises four movements with the following movement designations: Allegro un poco maestoso, Andantino, Moderato, Molto vivace.
