United Nations Chamber Music Society initiates Shostakovich stream during the coronavirus pandemic

The UN Chamber Music Society of the United Nations Staff Recreation Council has scheduled a streaming on March 20, 2020, "a special performance to provide solace during the coronavirus pandemic“. Musicians who are in quarantine at home play works by composers from six different regions of the world.
The streaming is scheduled for Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m. Central European Time (2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time) on the United Nations YouTube Channel. Arthur Hornig (cello) and his wife Sindy Mohamed (viola) will play the prelude from the suite for film music "Hornet" op. 97a No. 7 by Dmitri Shostakovich, which Konstantin Fortunatow arranged in the first of his "Three Duets" for 2 violins and piano. As part of the UN streaming, this prelude is to be played in an arrangement for viola and violoncello.
