Michael Nicolella with the American premiere of Yaron Gottfried's concert for electric guitar and chamber orchestra

The American guitarist Michael Nicolella, known for his diverse and exciting concerts, is the soloist of the US premiere of Yaron Gottfried's concert for electric guitar and chamber orchestra on February 22, 2020 in Tacoma.
The conductor, composer and pianist Yaron Gottfried is one of the best-known musicians of his generation in Israel, who combines classical, contemporary music and jazz in his versatility. From 2002 to 2013 he worked as music director and chief conductor of the Netanya-Kibbutz Orchestra, which has developed into one of the leading orchestras in Israel with over 120 concerts per season and fresh, unusual programs. Gottfried studied composition with Noam Sheriff and completed his studies at the Rubin Music Academy in Jerusalem with Maestro Mendi Rodan. In July 2013 he was appointed head of composition and conducting at the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. His 1998 concert for electric guitar, strings and drums was premiered by Israel Camerata Orchestra and Menachem Nevenhuase's conductor with soloist Avi Singolda. In this work, the electric guitar should be connected to a multi-effects device with presets. The player also has to operate a number of pedals (including a volume pedal) to allow the presets to be changed quickly.
