Swiss Premiere of Gubaidulina’s Music for Flute, Strings and Percussion

The Swiss flutist Emmanuel Pahud, who is solo flutist with the Berlin Philharmonic, will be the soloist at the Swiss premiere of the Music for Flute, Strings and Percussion by Sofia Gubaidulina on 8 January 2018 in Lausanne. He will be accompanied by the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne under the direction of Joshua Weilenstein. Emmanuel Pahud will be performing a reduced string version of this work which was originally composed in 1994 and premiered on 18 February 1995 in Paris by the flutist Pierre-Yves Artaud and the Orchestre National de France under Charles Dutoit. It was written in response to a commission from Radio France for the festival “Présences 95”.
