Marius Felix Lange is nominated for the German Music Authors’ Prize 2017

GEMA in Berlin will be awarding, for the ninth time, the German Music Authors’ Prize to outstanding composers and text authors on 30 March 2017. One of the composers being honoured is Marius Felix Lange in the category of “Composition for Music Theatre”. Lange has published a series of family operas, including “Snow White”, “The Snow Queen”, “About the Girl Who Did not Want to Sleep” and “The Ghost of Canterville”.

A jury of seven members determined the nominees in seven out of ten prize categories. From the submissions of members of the GEMA and the professional unions (DKV, DTV, DMV) as well as several suggestions of the jury members, the jury selected composers and text authors who are to be honoured for their outstanding musical oeuvres. “The nominees represent the variety and incredible amount of fascinating works created by members of GEMA in various genres and fields,” said the jury speaker Andreas Weidinger regarding the choice of nominees. “We, as the jury, wish the selection of the prize winners and the German Music Authors’ Prize to be understood as a sign of this.”
