Four more European Premieres of Nikodijevic’s “tiefenrausch”

The Armida Quartet is continuing its tour with Marko Nikodijevic’s string quartet “tiefenrausch” through European concert halls; the Quartet will be performing in four European countries in February 2017.

After the work has been performed on 4 February at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Swiss premiere will then be given on 7 February in Basle (Oekolampad Church), followed by the Luxemburg premiere (Luxembourg, Philharmonie) on 8 February 2017. The Berlin Quartet with the violinists Martin Funda and Johanna Staemmler, violist Teresa Schwamm and the cellist Peter Philipp Staemmler will perform the “Quartetto d’archi n° 1” one week later on the Iberian peninsula in Spain (Madrid, Fundación Juan March) on 15 February and will then present the Portuguese premiere on 19 February 2017 in Lisbon (Auditorio de la Fundacao Gulbenkian).

The string quartet “tiefenrausch” was commissioned by the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) for the series “Rising Stars”. The work was given its world premiere at the Barbican Centre in London, also by the Armida Quartet, on 19 October 2016.
