Mexican Premiere of “Focs d’artifici” by Ferran Cruixent

Ferran Cruixent’s percussion concerto “Focs d’artifici” (“fireworks”) given its Mexican premiere on 14 September 2016 in Toluca de Lerdo. Under the direction of Nicolas Pasquet, the percussionist Alejandro Coello Calvo and the Central American and Caribbean Youth Orchestra will perform the work from 2008.

The Catalonian composer Cruixent wrote his percussion concerto for the German world-class percussionist Peter Sadlo, who performed the world premiere on 14 January 2008 with the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen in Reutlingen.

Further performances of “Focs d'artifici” in Mexico will be given on 15 September in Puebla (Auditorio Del Complejo Cultural Universitario BUAP), 16 September in Mexico City (Parque Mexico Col. Condesa) as well on 17 September 2016 in Mexico City (Centro Cultural Mexiquense Texcoco) with the same interpreters.
