Chamber Orchestra of Europe on a European Tour with Weinberg’s Symphony No. 10

The music world commemorated the 20th anniversary of the death of Mieczysław Weinberg on 26 February 2016. To honour this composer, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe under the baton of Thierry Fischer (who will replace Vladimir Jurowski) will be embarking on a tour through Europe with Weinberg’s Symphony No. 10 in May 2016. Premieres in France and Switzerland will take place during the course of this tour.

After the first concerts in Italy at the Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Brescia e Bergamo and the Bologna Festival, the Swiss premiere of the Symphony No. 10 will be presented on 9 May 2016 at the “New Zurich Concert Series” at the Tonhalle in Zurich. On 11 May 2016, Fischer and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe will then give the French premiere at the Opéra National de Bordeaux (Auditorium) before concluding the tour in Toulouse on 12 May.
