Dmitri Kabalevsky wrote piano music for children that tranforms every piano lesson and practice session into pure joy. The pedagogical approach is certainly unmistakeable in his Easy Variations for Piano, Vol. I composed in 1940 as well. And still - the pieces in this new edition are performance literature of the finest kind which can already be managed in the early stages of piano playing.
