The premiere will take place on 4 February 2011. The production is to remain on the schedule of the Theatre until 2015. Guest performances have also been planned in several CIS countries and in the Baltic countries during this period.
The following performance dates in the 2010/11 season are known at present:
4 February (Premiere)
This ballet, based on the well-known fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen in an ingenious adaptation for dance theatre by the choreographer John Neumeier, was premiered with great success at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen, which also commissioned the work during the Andersen Year 2005. In 2007 Neumeier presented it in a slightly revised version at the Hamburg State Opera, where it has been seen regularly ever since. In March 2010 the San Francisco Ballet took over the Hamburg production of "The Little Mermaid" and will take it up again in March/April 2011 due to its great success.
