Contemporary Chamber Music in Dialogue: World Premieres of Works by Arnecke and Müller-Wieland in Munich

Two Sikorski composers will be at the centre of focus of the event “Contemporary Chamber Music in Dialogue” on 30 June 2010 at the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Alongside a work by Schubert, pieces by Jörn Arnecke and Jan Müller-Wieland will be presented.

The works by Arnecke are “Touchs: Eight Miniatures for Bass Flute and Viola,” “Alea/Talea: Piano Trio No. 1” and the world premiere of “Fortschreitende Veränderung” for bass clarinet, viola, violoncello and double bass. The soloists are Stefan Schneider (bass clarinet), Hariolf Schlichtig (viola), Sebastian Hess (violoncello) and Soo-Hyun Ahn (double bass).

The works by the Munich composer, conductor and Academy Professor Jan Müller-Wieland, alongside the “Klavierstück (Piano Piece)” and “Se solen sjunker: Piano Trio No. 3,” will include the world premiere of the new piano solo work “Rilke’s Panther (in memory of Werner Schroeter)” for piano. The composer will perform the piano piece himself.

There will be a talk with Jörn Arnecke and Jan Müller-Wieland immediately after the concert, moderated by Siegfried Mauser.
