Jan Müller-Wieland: Premiere of “Se solen sjunker” in Gelsenkirchen
The world premiere of Jan Müller-Wieland’s new chamber work “Se solen sjunker”: Piano Trio No. 3 will take place on 29 June 2008 at the Piano Festival Ruhr at the Zeche Nordstern.
“Se solen sjunker” is the title of an old Swedish folk song and means “see, the sun is setting.” Franz Schubert also used it in the second movement of his Trio in E-flat major.
Müller-Wieland’s Piano Trio was commissioned by the Piano Festival Ruhr and will be given during the third part of the concert series “In Franz Schubert’s World – Approaches and Radiances.”
The interpreters of the work are Siegfried Mauser (piano), Gottfried Schneider (violin) and Sebastian Hess (violoncello).
